This research aims to "know the emotional cognitive characteristics of young people who participate in the bullying phenomenon identified as aggressor and victim in an Educational Institution in the city of Palmira (Valle)". Under the theoretical perspective of Ortony, Clore and Collins (1996), who postulate the interdependent condition of cognition and emotions, from the description of the categories events, agents and objects, described in the discursive approach of the subjects, who evidence the Desirability, plausibility and taste, because it surrounds them in a specific situation, which in the case of the study is the "Bullying Phenomenon". The methodology used is quantitative descriptive, the study participants are 33 students of private-mixed educational institution, aged between 10 and 21 years. To which the “Bullying-Cali” questionnaire was applied, María Teresa Paredes, Leonor I. Lega, Ann Vernon (cited by Paredes, Álvarez, Lega and Vernón, 2008), as part of the filter activity, to determine the role that Each participant met in the context of bullying. Additionally, a semi-structured interview was conducted that aims to describe the cognitive structure of emotions in bullying spaces between partners, in which three categories are mainly discriminated, events, agents and objects, typical of a bullying situation. In relation to the application of the “Bullying-Cali” questionnaire Paredes, Lega and Vernon (cited by Paredes et al., 2008), the results obtained by the research participants show the presence of bullying between partners, the types of bullying most frequently used, variations in the form of bullying according to the gender of aggressors and victims. For their part in describing the cognitive structure of emotions in situations of harassment, the participants argue that their behaviors of harm to their peers are due to representations of merit, justifications not adjusted to reality, the lack of prediction of consequences and conditions of approval or not of the behavior of the other. And in the associated emotional reactions, the boys express that they vary according to the desirable or undesirable of an event and the people who are involved, the level of intensity of the emotion and duration over time.eng
