| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | According to an OECD study:
Vocational guidance helps people of any age and at any time in their lives to choose an academic, professional or job occupation. The orientation includes: programs that help students clarify their professional goals and understand the world of work; personal or group help to decide on initial courses of study, vocational training courses, education and subsequent training, first job choice, change of occupation or re-entry into the workplace; computerized or online services that inform about jobs and careers or that help to decide professionally; and, finally, services that generate and distribute information about jobs, courses and professional training. (OECD, 2004, p. 2)
Professional orientation refers to activities aimed at helping people of all ages, at all times of their lives, to make a decision about education, training and profession and to manage their professional career. Professional guidance helps individuals to reflect on their ambitions, their interests, their qualifications and their abilities. It helps them understand the labor market and education systems, and relate this knowledge to what they know about themselves. A comprehensive professional orientation tries to teach people to plan and make decisions about their working life and the training that it implies. Vocational guidance makes information on the labor market and training opportunities affordable, organizing and systematizing this information and making it available at the right time, when people need it. | eng |
