This qualitative hermeneutic study analyzed teaching practices and assessment techniques in a Kids English Program at a binational institution in Manizales. It found that teachers use diverse strategies mainly based on experience to promote and evaluate learning. However, it highlights the need for deeper understanding of how children acquire a second language, as well as more training in teaching grammar and assessment adapted to young learners’ cognitive processes. The study also emphasizes the importance of appropriate textbooks and well-structured syllabi for achieving meaningful learning.eng
